Next Philosophy Portal Course Starts June 9th
Starting June 9th Philosophy Portal will be starting a new year-long course focused on the early writings of Karl Marx.
This course will include seminars offering full textual analysis of Marx's writings from the 1840s, as well as open discussion spaces to think through how Marx inverted the logical conclusions of German Idealist philosophy towards the unique problems of political-economy in the rise of industrial production and bourgeois politics.
The logic of this course represents a natural extension of Philosophy Portal's work on Hegel, especially considering our work on the Philosophy of Right last year, and the start of this course opening with an analysis of Marx's Critique of the Philosophy of Right.
Throughout the course I will be looking to hold a higher order dialectic between the philosophical works of Hegel and the political-economy of Marx, inspired by many contemporary thinkers who have worked with Philosophy Portal.
The course is open-ended, meaning you can join at any time. The first session starts June 9th. You can find the complete schedule below:
