Month of Excess

The Portal is now 6 months old! ​ We have built a great thinking community, and pioneered a new event space that is committed to thinking through various dimensions of sexuality, community, and metaphysics. ​ This July we will be starting out with another exploration of sexuality through the window of the concept of excess as the opposite and yet in unity with lack. ​ We will be hosting Owen Cox of Dark Renaissance Radio to explore the politics of the counter-culture as an excess that we still do not know how to think; Girardian theorist Thomas Hamelryck for a lecture on Christianity and Eroticism for potentially a new way to think religion and sexuality; as well as Paris Jayer, an expert Tantric practitioner, to discuss what it means to live a "Tantric Life". ​
