The Portal @ Wake!
The Extension of the Christian Atheism Course (April 27-May 1)
The Christian Atheism course begins October 20th and will offer a 2+ month philosophical investigation of the contradiction between Christianity and Atheism, as well as feature guest lectures from living theologians and philosophers working in this tradition, including Slavoj Žižek, Peter Rollins, Barry Taylor, and Mark Gerard Murphy.
Now I am excited to announce that, for the first time, a Philosophy Portal course is going to be connected to a live event, which will include discussions, presentations, and workshops organised around and inspired by the Christian Atheism course. This live event will be organised in parallel with Peter Rollins Wake Festival from April 27th to May 1st in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The Portal @ Wake will feature discussions with Alfie Bown, Helen Rollins, Jim Palmer, Michel Bauwens, Thomas Hamelryck, and many others; will feature a conference series inspired by the work of students in the Christian Atheism course; as well as workshops designed to connect the concept of Christian Atheism to ideas of The Body, Creative Communities, and Network Dynamics.
All students of the Christian Atheism course will get a discount to attend Wake. To find out more about both the Christian Atheism course, as well as The Portal @ Wake, check the links below:
